Blanket Stitch (and Other Decorative Stitches) Instructions Found Here)
(Not affiliated with the above site. But it is very instructive!)

Trace your pattern pieces with a Sharpie.
You don't want to pin on your pattern and cut it  out. Felt is too stiff for this.
It's also fun to make the front piece a different color from the back piece.
You can see examples of this in the finished carriers page.

Cut out inside the black line, making sure no sharpie remains on your felt.

If you plan to embellish the front piece, I suggest doing it now. Trust me,
there is no need to ask how I figured this one out!

You can leave embellishing the flaps until the end.

Start with the rectangle, and set your thread.
Instead of knotting your thread at the end, use the needle
to slip it through the felt layers.  Once you get to the corner
to start your sewing, take a small knot here.

Blanket Stitch across.  (Or use any decorative stitch you like!)

Carefully line up the marks on your pattern, so that you have an
equal amount of flap on both ends.  There are red dots on the patterns to help.
Pin to help keep it from slipping.
Blanket stitch the two pieces down one side.

Once the side is attached, continue the Blanket stitch across the
top of the smaller piece, as shown.

Sew the other sides together. It should form a tube,
as shown above.

I liked using a different color across the two flaps, but of course you
can use the same as you did on the sides.

Embellish as desired.  I like putting something on the flaps.
The one on the left has felt flowers, and the one on the right
is crusted with beads.  I don't do bead work, so the best I can do that way
is a nice thick line of multicolored beads. However, I think this
carrier would lend itself well to elaborate bead work!

Sew on the snaps, using the pattern for placement.

I sewed two decorative buttons on this purple one.
What will YOU do?

Tuck her up from the bottom, to avoid crinkling the dress.

Pull her out from the top!
