Scenes from the Woods

May 2009

A rainy day brings out new leaves.

My dwarf Apple tree is in bloom.

It had several bushels of apples last year.
I plan to buy a one-gallon cider press this year.

Creeping Charlie. Sigh. Such a terrible invader in my garden!

The hostas are up.

Lilac flowers coming soon!

My onion bed is showing growth.

The Paperwhite Narcissus is going to bloom soon.

Bloomed!

Here are some of the blossoms on my Pear tree.

And just one day later--opening!

This Ent guards the gardens.

Where some folks see the spread of weeds I see a carpet of gold.

Such vibrant gold!

The woods are greening up!

These are blossoms on my Native Plum Bushes.

My favorite dead tree. It's magnificent.

The purple Trilliums do not smell nice. They stink!

Young maple leaves uncurling.

Apple blossoms after a rain.

Apple Blossoms Fully Open

A Grape Hyacynth

The lilacs are almost open!

My Peony is budding.

A liyylr chipmonk under the bird feeder.

Can we say 'oink' boys and girls?

Is this a chippie or a piggie?
