Common Bumble-bee

I thought this was a rare and cool bee--but no. Just a variation
on the Common Bumble-bee.

I'm not the only one to love dandelions.
Hornet

A Honeybee.

A relative of the Dragonfly, this is a Damselfly.
You can tell by the slender body. Dragonflies are fatter.

Tent Worms, the scourge of trees. They can strip a tree of leaves in a day.

Wireworm. When mature, it will turn into a Click Beetle.

Owlet Moth

These Red Ants are doing something good for the Peonys. I have no idea what, but
my Grandmother always said to leave them on there!

This is a nasty, creepy worm that squirts green when you squash
it for eating your flowers. In real life, it's called a Comma Larva,
which would hatch into an Angel Wing Moth. (I think--hard to tell
from the pictures in the books, sometimes.)

I can't identify this tiny, delicate beauty. Any Ideas???

Fifteen-spotted Ladybug

Another kind of dragonfly.

This teensy butterfly is the Ruddy Copper

It is about the size of a nickel and when you see one, you see dozens!

Can you spot the Snapping Turtle? This one is pretty small, only about 14" across the widest part.

The dreaded Japanese Beetles are here!

We wage a constant battle over my grape vines.

This is a much more pleasant image.

Note the pollen all over this sweetie!

Gorgeous!

This is a Tiger Swallowtail.

This froggy spends his time in the mud! He looks big, but is actually a sweet little 1 1/2" fellow.
We have tons of frogs here, from little ones that would fit on the end of a pencil, to big ole bullfrogs.
