Scenes from the Woods

AUGUST!

I'd like to say the hazy, hot days of summer are here....but they aren't.
This has been a cold, wet summer so far!

Marky, getting ready to row boards across the pond.
He is building Camp Fort-clubhouse.

Dave is getting ready to help.

That's my boy--sipping cool drinks while someone else does the work!

Some plywood taken over on a previous trip.

That's the old teepee in the front, and behind--see the walls going up!

A foggy morning on the pond.

Jewelweed, known here at home as poppies, because when you
just touch the seed pod it pops and sends the seeds flying
up to five feet away.

Note the green--it's tiny little seaweed leaves on the surface of the water.
I hate it.

Fairies live here.

More scummy seaweed!

A victim of the storms.

These tiny white flowers grow right out of the water.

Pretty in pink, on the shoreline.

Blackie cools off.

A six-foot weed--!

The apples are almost ready to pick.

Marky's Secret Camp Fort-Clubhouse Hideout Outpost Oooh, A Snake
is progressing!

Mark and Marky, taking a break.
