(Small dolls from my personal collection)

This wonderful Hitty is a souvenir from the Hitty Luncheon at
UFDC in 2001. She was hand carved and painted by well known wood doll
artist Larry Tycksen for the luncheon. Larry is the son-in-law of the
late Sherman Smith, also a well known wood doll artist. Larry carves his
dolls in similar fashion and same jointing as Sherman did on his highly
collectible dolls. This Hitty stands 6 1/2" tall and is jointed at
the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. In addition to Hitty, also included in this auction are the table favors given at luncheon that was called "Hitty's Southern Journey Luncheon". The items include a wonderful trunk that was given by the hostess of the table that the luncheon attendee sat at, so only ten of these were given at the luncheon, also included is a kit with everything you need to make a nice quilt for Hitty, a cape, set of three hangers, another little lacy thing that looks like something she would wear on her wrist and a lovely handbag for Hitty. Her dress, undergarments, cape and purse are all beautifully sewn. Hitty is signed and dated by Larry Tycksen. |
