In
this sale you will receive #2-09, only my second carved Hitty
for 2009. This Hitty was hand-carved from mahogany, then carefully
sanded to smooth out--but not remove--the carving marks. Mahogany
was lovely to carve, and made lovely crisp marks. It's also
a heavy wood, and she feels nice and heavy in your hands.
Her height is 6 1/2". She is elastic jointed for maximum
poseability. Her 100% cotton dress is scattered with crows,
stars, and moons, and trimmed with baby rickrack and silk
ribbon. Her pantalettes are hand-dyed cotton. She is wearing
a hand-crafted hat with matching trim and matching bow, and
two sassy duck feathers. She is painted with Liquitex paints,
and carefully coated with several coats of Liquitex varnish
to protect her paint and make her washable.
Price: $305.00 with free shipping and insurance.
Lay-away is accepted--3 payments of $105.00, $100.00, and
$100.00
payable in full by September 15th, 2009
PayPal accepted.

Even though she is elastic jointed, she easily stands on her
own.

Tiny brown buttons hold the elastic on the arms and legs.
She is painted in the traditional Hitty manner.

Her hair is carved like the Real Hitty, and painted black
with Liquitex paints.
She likes to wear it short, because she really doesn't like
to fuss over it.

She has the two carved side 'curls', carved in the manner
of the Real Hitty's hair.

She is very sweet, but I have to warn you, she is a bit of
a tomboy.
It was all I could do to wrestle her into this dress.

Don't leave this hat behind! It wouldn't be the first one
she has set aside,
and then left behind, as she plays in the woods and among
the flowers!

See what I mean? If she hadn't decided to slide down
the rock, we wouldn't be able to see her pantalettes,
made from cotton hand-dyed by Sara Cole.

She is especially taken with fossil rocks so I managed to
get
this snapshot before she skipped off.
Please note: This Hitty
needs a good home with a firm Hitty to manage her,
and guide her into a proper Hitty life-style.
Have fun! |
